
Jeff Dietrich
Jeff Dietrich joined Truck Accident & Incident Experts, LLC (TAIE) as a Senior Consultant in 2025 and is located out of the Iowa City, Iowa area. In this role, Dietrich is involved in the investigation of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) crashes and incidents and tasked with creating a comprehensive report detailing contributing factors, causation opinions and identifying compliance or non-compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, State Code, and/or standards of care applicable to the industry. These reports are used by either Plaintiff Counsel or Defense Counsel as they litigate on behalf of their clients to bring closure after those devastating crashes and incidents
Before joining TAIE, Dietrich retired from the Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit of the Iowa State Patrol with the rank of Sergeant, assistant District Commander of Area D after a 34-year career. During that career, Dietrich also served as a field training officer and DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) In addition to Level 1 inspection, he is also certified in Post crash, Haz-mat, Cargo tank and Motorcoach inspections. In 2002, Dietrich represented the State of Iowa at the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) North America Inspector competition, placing 1st in Level 1 inspection. Dietrich investigated CMV crashes, inspected 1,000s of CMV’s for roadside enforcement purposes and made presentations to the Motor Carrier Industry, all in the Iowa State Patrol’s effort and responsibility to promote and enhance the safety of the motoring public. Dietrich, currently as a TAIE Senior Consultant, brings more than three decades of experience to the table for assigned cases.
